10 Ways to Feed Your Spirit

How much time have you spent on yourself lately? It’s easy to get caught up in day to day life and ignore what your spirit is asking you for, you will notice this when you start to feel a bit blah, you know, unmotivated, a bit down and tired.

Here are 10 great ways to help you feed your spirit and create a life you will love!

1. Practice Gratitude

When you come from a place of gratitude, you will naturally feel better and attract more great things to you, for example if you buy a friend lunch, and they are not grateful, you probably won’t do this again. If you buy a friend lunch who is overjoyed, you will be inspired to buy them lunch again. Think of the universe in the same way, the more gratitude you practice, the more it wants to give to you.

An easy way to practice gratitude is to simply say thank you throughout the day, thank you for my car, thank you for my bed, thank you for this glass of wine, whatever you are doing or experiencing throughout the day, think thank you!

2. Take a Walk

Ahh, feeling a bit cooped up lately? You are not alone, social distancing and working from home can create a lot of stress, so no more than ever getting outside is an important way to feed your spirit. No matter where you live, getting outside for 10 minutes for a quick walk is a sure way to uplift your energy.

3. Let it Go

Do you have regrets over the past? Have you been hurt by a major change of events in your life such as a break up or lost job? Well, the longer you think about the past in a negative way, the harder it is for you to move forward.

Take every past experience as a “lesson learned,” and forgive anyone who has hurt you, as holding on to past hurts does not affect anyone but yourself, so just breathe and let it go.

4. Visualize for What You Want

Do you know what you want in life, I mean what you really want? Perhaps you are feeling stuck and things seem to be the same, this can be quite boring for your mind and spirit. The best tool you have to start creating more of what you want is to Visualize for what you want.

To do this, first spend some time thinking about what it is you really want, then look at images online and save them to a folder for easy access, then look through the images daily and picture yourself already having it, really feel like you have it now.

5. Meditate for 15 Minutes

6. Watch an Uplifting Movie

Do you watch a lot of TV or online videos? Perhaps you spend hours a day going through your Facebook newsfeed, whereever you spend your extra time, it can be spent in a more productive way by selecting some uplifting movies to watch.

Movies such as, The Peaceful Warrior, The Secret, What the Bleep do We Know, You can Heal Your Life, are a few suggestions to get you started!

7. Help Someone

When you help or give to someone, it helps them to feel great, and you will feel great too, helping someone is a win win, and can be as simple as buying a cup of coffee, giving some advice, or a ride to the airport. Look for opportunities to help someone today.

8. Drink Lot’s of Water

Keeping your body hydrated, keeps your body fresh and energized, in fact, many times when you are feeling drained and tired, you may simply be lacking water. Try drinking 2 liters of water today and notice the difference you will feel.

9. Practice Deep Breathing

You have probably been masking around lately, so it’s more important than ever when home to make sure to Practice deep breathing. Deep breathing is especially helpful for quick stress relief and relaxation. This is very simple to do, simply find a comfortable spot to relax, and take 3 long slow deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth, you can count to 10 on each inhale and exhale to keep your breaths nice and slow.

10. Eat Something Healthy

What foods do you know are healthy for you? Have you been eating them lately? Identify 3 foods that you enjoy that are healthy and add them to your meals today, it’s easy to forget this simple way to keep your body clean, and when your body is clean, your mind will become clearer too.
