What Is The Difference Between A Reiki Healer and A Reiki Master?

You’re probably reading this because you are entering the world of Reiki for the first time, and this a phenomenal starting point.

When it comes to this spiritual practice, there are two different kinds of people: Reiki Healers and Reiki Masters. Granted, you have to be a healer first before you can become a master, but in this blog post, we are going to discuss the difference between the two roles.

A Simple Break Down & History

Reiki is a spiritual practice that dates back to the 1920’s in Japan.

A monk named Mikao Usui had a spiritual awakening around what is believed to have been 1922, which morphed into a spiritual practice and led Master Usui to teach this modern day energy healing technique to students all over the world.

There are 3 different levels to Reiki, and they go as follows:

Reiki Level 1: The ability to heal ones’ self

Reiki Level 2: The ability to heal ones’ self and others

Reiki Level 3: The ability to heal ones’ self, others, and to teach the technique to students

Reiki Healers

If you are considered a Reiki Healer, then you have completed Level 1, Level 2, or both levels of Reiki.

This means that you can help people by using energy healing to align the energy inside them and yourself. This is a wonderful practice that has made a difference in the world for years.

Reiki Masters

If you are considered a Reiki Master, then you have completed all 3 Levels of Reiki and have the capability to teach Reiki to others.

This is a great certification to have because it allows you to do exactly what Master Usui did in the 1900’s: spread a practice that will continue to make lives’ better for years to come.
